ABOUT THE CHAIN OF CHANGE

What is Chain of Change?

The Chain of Change project will organize approximately 24 groups of youth across the state of Illinois to individually and collectively strategize how to end violence against women and girls, thinking about their own roles in this work and relative to other communities. As these video segments are created, Beyondmedia will upload them to the Chain of Change interactive website, enabling the participating groups and the general public to track the development of the project. The website will also facilitate discussion among these 24 groups about the work that is being made in an effort to strengthen bonds between these groups and to raise awareness of violence against women and girls, in all its complexity.

The Process

  1. Each group receives camera equipment with instructions to create their own video.
  2. Beyondmedia uploads the video to this website and creates a profile for your group.
  3. On August 23rd, 2008, all participating groups are invited to a Youth Summit in Chicago.

The Website

Our finalized website here will allow participating groups in the Chain of Change project to communicate and network with each other and start a dialogue on the videos that have been uploaded. Groups are also encouraged to continue making new videos or video responses to clips they see on the website.
