COC Youth Leadership Council is a board of youth that act as peer representatives and reporters for their schools and communities and also provide support to participating COC organizations. Leaders choose their form of media (video, podcasting, blogging, photography, etc.) to articulate their views on violence and to document the violence and anti-violence work that often goes unreported in mainstream media.

“It is pretty clear that violence exists in daily lives. Our movement is fighting this trend of society with our own artillery of media solutions and unsurpassed youth activism. From the War on Terror to the genocides in Darfur to your own backyard, violence is imminent and leaves a permanent bruise in our society. I joined COC because I believe youth have the power to make a difference. It is our aim to inspire, support and celebrate a generation of doers. COC aims at providing youth with opportunities to convert small actions into large impacts.” |
